A New Design for Miami Presbytery
Building for the Future

The new design fulfills the mission statement and goals of Miami Presbytery by increasing opportunities for congregations and presbyters to build trusting relationships, equip each other, support each other, and encourage ministry. To accomplish this, the committee structure of Miami Presbytery has been streamlined, and two new entities have been identified and named: Neighborhoods and Networks.

Each Neighborhood gathers together urban, suburban and rural congregations, both large and small including a variety of theological perspectives. Neighborhoods are geographic quadrants in which presbytery services will be delivered. They are not given specific requirements in terms of their structure, leadership or meetings. Some may choose to enhance their Neighborhoods by planning grand worship celebrations, shared activities, meetings or training events on their own.  Networks are vocational associations or groups of individuals, gathered by a sense of passion, call and giftedness for a particular ministry. Networks are intended to create a culture that provides for a streamlined, focused and responsive approach to discerning and acting on God’s call.
