Presbyterian History and Polity Class

Presbyterian History and Polity Class
Taught by Synod Executive Chip Hardwick
Mondays March 18 – May 20 on Zoom

This course introduces students to Presbyterian history and polity so that as church leaders they can serve “decently and in order.”  Suited both for those pursuing ordination and congregational lay leaders, the course dives into the Books of Order and Confessions as well as church history to strengthen students’ leadership capacities in challenging situations. Utilizing case studies and interviews with Presbyterian luminaries, the course prepares students for the PC(USA) polity ordination exam, as well as every day ministry in the church. Note: this course can be taken for credit or be audited.

The Rev. Chip Hardwick, Ph.D., Executive of the Synod of the Covenant, will teach this course.  It will be held Monday evenings March 18 through May 20, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Zoom.  It is offered through Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit.
