Alter: A Dementia-Friendly Congregation Program for African American Churches
Dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease, is attacking the African American community and through the Alter program, Dr. Fayron Epps is making sure African American churches are equipped to respond to this public health crisis. The Alter program partners with African American congregations/ministries and provide them education, resources, and financial contributions to enable them to support older adults and families affected by dementia.
This program is of no cost to the church and works with churches in three main areas: support programs, education/awareness, and worship. Alter is here to help church leaders help their members. Please join us to learn more how Dr. Epps and her team can support your congregation.
