Ruling Elder Training for Presiding at the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
Saturday, May 21 at Honey Creek Presbyterian Church
Presbytery of the Miami Valley will offer Ruling Elder Training for Presiding at the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper Saturday, May 21, 10:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. at Honey Creek Presbyterian Church, 212 West Jefferson St., New Carlisle, OH 45344
The Presbytery of the Miami Valley will once again offer training for ruling elders to be authorized to preside at the Lord’s Supper. It can be challenging for congregations without pastoral leadership to find a minster of Word and Sacrament to preside at the Lord’s Supper.
The presbytery is able to train and authorize ruling elders to preside at the Lord’s Supper as a way of providing care to the presbytery’s congregations.
The training will cover the theology of the Lord’s Supper using Scripture, the Book of Confessions, Directory for Worship, a service for the Lord’s Supper, and a practical time for ruling elders to break bread and bless the cup.
The training will be led by
The Rev. Lynn Bova, Stated Clerk
The Rev. Terry Kukuk, Executive Presbyter
Registration deadline for this event is Friday, May 13.
To register, email Executive Presbyter Terry Kukuk at ep@miamipresbytery.org
Packets of materials and a lunch will be provided to participants.
