Ruling Elder Training in Pastoral Care

Ruling Elders are often called upon to assist and provide pastoral care within your congregations. In this training you will learn skills and gain resources to use when visiting fellow members in a hospital setting or in the residences of homebound members.
The purpose of this training is to learn some basics including active listening, maintaining confidentiality, boundary awareness, and spiritual companionship during illness, grief or end of life.
- Receive resources for hospital and home visits
- Receive community resources for referrals and support
- Resources for ongoing grief support within the congregation
Leaders: MWS Terry Kukuk, Executive Presbyter and MWS Emily Haddox, LIMFT-S
Deacons or pastoral care teams are welcome as well.
Reservations are not required but are welcome for our planning purposes.
